Now that we’ve been back on the boat for a week I need to settle down and update everybody here.

Mosaic went back in the water in Port Townsend on Friday the 15th. We did sea trials with the new engine and she passed with flying colors. So we took the next couple days and cleaned and organized like mad so that we could move back aboard on Sunday.

It’s so good to be home.

On Wednesday last week, we left Port Townsend bright and early to head to Kingston, our stop-over point on our way to Poulsbo for the winter.

Stopping Over in Kingston for the Night

The Port of Kingston was a really nice marina. It boasted a great location and we were interested in chatting with the harbormaster about staying there for the next couple months, but unfortunately, we had pretty poor cell signal in the place and wouldn’t have been able to work there reliably. Too bad. It sure would’ve been nice to be able to head out of the marina for a sail and be immediately into the wide-open waters of the puget sound!

Kingston to Poulsbo on a Frosty Cold Morning

It froze that night and we battled the cold on the trip to Poulsbo on Thursday morning. But we timed the currents well and got tied up in Poulsbo before noon.

Passing Time Waiting for Spring

So, we’re settled in and waiting for warmer weather to get us back off the docks. But, until then, we do have a few fun trips planned. We’re hoping to get out to Blake Island for a long weekend in December with our buddies aboard SV Muse. And we’re also planning several road trips to explore around the Olympic Peninsula since we’ve got the car here.

Do you know of anything up in the area that we really need to take the time to check out? I hope you’ll let us know!

Thanks for reading! ~Rachel
